We can’t believe it, but just over 10 years ago we sold our first beers to Soma restaurant. During that time span we’ve had the pleasure of watching our business grow to what it is today. We went from a tiny basement home-brew set up to a full retail brewery on Rantoul street. It’s truly been surreal to watch our vision of creating a brewery come to life and watch our taproom become a community meeting space for family, friends, and the arts. Your support over the past ten years has meant the world to us.
However, as we are getting older and the demands of family life and our regular day jobs continue to grow, we’ve decided that this will be our last year running Old Planters. It’s become clear to us over the past year that our business deserves more time than we can currently give it in order for it to continue to grow.
That being said, it’s our sincere hope that someone will want to carry the torch for Old Planters into the future starting in 2026, but we understand that might not be a reality. If that’s the case, we will be doing our best to try and foster a new concept for our building that will be a great addition to Rantoul Street. Regardless of how things play out, we hope to have an amazing rest of the year drinking beers with our friends and making more amazing memories that we will carry with us into the future. As we move forward, we will keep you posted with any developments about the future of 232 Rantoul Street.
